Accommodation
Whether you are coming to the Netherlands for the first time or you are relocating to Groningen, you will be looking for a place to call home. In Groningen, students live in student housing or private accommodation. As it is often difficult to find accommodation in Dutch cities, we advise you to start searching for housing as earliest as possible. Keep in mind that over 20,000 students will be searching for a accommodation at the same time as you.
Please do not underestimate the challenge of finding accommodation. Finding accommodation is a priority and you should reserve a room as early as possible. For example, if you are starting your studies in September, we strongly advise that you begin actively looking for a room in April.
Important to know: You can register at SSH student housing to reserve a student room. Please make sure to apply on time as the rooms can be booked quite fast.
What are your options?
- SSH Student Housing - you can rent one of the rooms the University of Groningen has reserved for international students.
- Private accommodation - you can search and rent a room from private landloards on At Home In Groningen.
- Long-stay hotel - The Student Hotel
